Raymond Erwood Drumm, age 98, originally from Collinsville, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, in Glendale, Arizona.
He was born on March 16, 1925, to Raymond Carlos and Mary (Fletcher) Drumm in Duquoin, Illinois.
On May 17, 1957, he married the love of his life, Norma Lonita Rogers. They shared 47 years together before her passing in 2004.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cherished his family. He was a thoughtful, kind, generous man who led by example.
Raymond was a military veteran and served in the Navy during WWII. As a young man with a passion for flying, he enjoyed the serenity and freedom of flying his Cessna aircraft.
After a long career in the commercial transportation industry, Raymond retired from National Marine Service, where he started as a Port Engineer and ended his career as Manager of Operations.
He had a passion for working on diesel engines and heavy equipment. After retirement, he worked as a consultant on heavy equipment repair for industrial diesel power plants.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma; his sister, Louise Vandervelde; his brothers Arnold Drumm and George Drumm; and his step-son Patrick McCarthy.
Surviving are his children, Yolande Lubeski (Michael) of Goodyear, AZ; Raymond Drumm of Pearlington, MS; Paul Drumm (Mary) of Collinsville, IL; Jon Drumm (Tammy) of Carriere, MS; step-daughters, Sandra Warren (Dennis) of Collinsville, IL; Anita Roybal of Collinsville, IL; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
Visitation and Service: Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 2 pm on Monday, February 26, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial will be at the St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.
