Patricia Carnahan, age 60, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side. Patricia was born on January 11, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL, a daughter to Morris E. Maurer Sr., and Mary Jane (Schlichting) Maurer.
Patricia had worked at Jackie’s Tavern and the Venice Social for many years as a bartender where she became friends with everyone. She also enjoyed buying gifts for others, especially for her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. Patricia loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morris E. Maurer Sr.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Sherry (Leroy) Huskamp of Granite City, IL and James (Leslie) Carnahan Jr. of Mitchell, IL; dear mother, Mary Jane Maurer of Granite City, IL; proud grandmother to, Michael Huskamp, James Huskamp, Adam (Angelika) Huskamp, Jake (Whitney) Carnahan, Ethan (Eve Daily) Devlin, Shay Barnfield, Jayme Carnahan and Travis Carnahan; two great-grandchildren, Riley Carnahan and Carmen Devlin; two brothers, Morris (Denise) Maurer Jr. and Richard (Gina) Maurer; two nieces, Adrianne (Cory) Matthews and Brooke Maurer; and loved by many dear friends.
Patricia had requested that family and friends wear casual attire to the visitation and funeral services.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL with Rev. Charles West officiating.
