Ida Mae McBride, 87, passed away at 5am on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Granite City Nursing and Rehab. She was born on September 10, 1923, in Taylorville, Illinois the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Eva (Stephens) Oram. She married Paul F. McBride in St. Louis, Missouri on July 20, 1940, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1998.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons in law: Margie and Edward McQuade of Carlyle, Illinois, Judy Hensley of Collinsville, Illinois, Paula and Lowell Burton of Caseyville, Illinois, Karen McBride, two sons and daughters in law: Dennis and Patti McBride of Granite City, Illinois and Randy and Sue McBride of Granite City, Illinois, nineteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, six great – great grandchildren, and two brothers: Tom Oram of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Richard “Dean” Oram of Granite City, Illinois all survive.
She was formerly employed at American Steel Foundation as an assembly line worker. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son: Terry Leonard McBride.
Private funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
