Matthew Todd Burkey, 25, of Pontoon Beach, IL passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home.
He was born on October 10, 1995 in Granite City, IL to Anthony Todd Burkey and Nicole Futrell.
Matthew was a musician, song writer, member and creator of several rock n roll bands. He loved music, art, adventures, the world and spending time with his brother, Justice. He will be remembered for his electric personality and the good times, with love and his love for the world.
Besides his mother Nicole, Matthew is survived by 2 brothers: Drake Morgan and Justice Futrell both of Granite City, IL; a sister, Jessica Burkey of Granite City, IL; paternal grandmother, Diane (John) Greene of Granite City, Il; paternal grandfather, Keith (Diana) Burkey of Granite City, IL; maternal grandmother, Ann Futrell of Granite City, IL; an aunt, Serena (Vince) Freese of Granite City, IL and an uncle, Martin ( Shirley Rouggly) Johnson of Caseyville, IL.
Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Todd Burkey and maternal grandfather, Alfred Futrell.
