June Clinard

June Margaret Clinard, nee McDaniels, 98, of Belleville, IL, born March 10, 1927, in Detroit, MI, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Dammert Care Center, Belleville, IL.

June worked as a professional photographer, first for a local newspaper, and later owned her own studio. June, along with her husband, Charles, were owners of Clinard Photography in Royal Oak, MI. She was the first woman in Michigan to have become a certified professional photographer, and June and Charles were the first married couple in Michigan to become certified professional photographers. She was past-president of both the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce and the Detroit Professional Photographers Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Mary Ann, nee Fischer, McDaniels; a grandson, Scott Richards; and three siblings, Irene, Bruce, and James.

Surviving are her loving husband of 77 years, Charles Clinard, whom she married February 7, 1948; four children, Beth (Dale) Richards, Ruth Clinard, David (Jenny) Clinard, and Karen Clinard; four grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Richards, Rebecca Richards (Robert Smith), Robert (Ashley) Clinard, and Corissa (Tony) Woollet; and many great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Rev. Amanda Richards officiating.
