Ralph H. Langhauser, age 86, of Breese, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Cedarhurst of Breese.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Langhauser (nee Mondt), whom he married on June 12, 1963, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston and who died August 17, 2021; brothers, Mark Langhauser, Dwight Langhauser, and Leon Langhauser; parents-in-law, Edward and Sophia (nee Renschen) Mondt; and brothers-in-law, Andrew Mondt and Jerry Mondt.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Rochelle (Brad) Halstead of Breese; grandchildren, Dr. Alecia (Agustin Beshku) Halstead of Chicago and Trent (Larissa) Halstead of Breese; great-grandchildren, Remi and Bodi Beshku and Huxton and Hadley Jo Halstead; siblings, Barb (R. Ralph began his working career with Clinton County Oil Co., where he spent many years before transitioning into the insurance industry. He went on to sell insurance and long-term care coverage with Knights of Columbus Insurance, working out of the McCue office in Ladue, MO. Throughout his professional life, Ralph valued the relationships he formed and enjoyed helping the many people he came to know through his work.
No matter where his career took him, Ralph always remained connected to his roots in Little Prairie. He proudly considered himself a hobby farmer and found great enjoyment working the ground and spending time at the family home place. Farming was more than a pastime for Ralph; it was a connection to where he came from and a way of life he treasured throughout the years.
Ralph was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and a member of Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, where he was a 3rd Degree Knight and a member of the 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly. He was also a member of the Breese Historical Society.
Away from work and the farm, Ralph enjoyed camping throughout his life and especially treasured traveling with Ruth Ann. Together, the two enjoyed seeing the world, creating countless memories and sharing experiences that remained among Ralph’s most cherished. Above all, Ralph was devoted to his family and took great pride in watching it grow through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
