GLEN CARBON – Glen Carbon Police served a search warrant at about 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, in the 200 block of Glen Carbon Road after a report and investigation into animal cruelty, finding more than 20 animals, both living and deceased, inside a home, authorities said.
Responding officers removed all of the animals from the home and brought them to the Glen Carbon Police Department. Hawthorn Animal Hospital assessed the animals, and various rescues provided emergency care and placement.
The Glen Carbon Police Department thanked the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office, Found A Hound Rescue, Metro East Humane Society, Partners for Pets, Serendipity GSD Rescue, Edwardsville Police Department community service officers and Madison County EMA for assisting in what the department described as a “massive undertaking.”
The department said all animals are receiving medical care in safe and loving homes.
