
Alma Helen Risinger, 88, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 2:59 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born September 3, 1937, in Kaskaskia, Illinois, a daughter of the late Emmit and Juanita (Simpson) Dosa. She married the love of her life, Glen W. Risinger, on May 7, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri. They shared 53 years of marriage before Brother Glen passed away on May 23, 2008.
Alma was a longtime and faithful member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle in Granite City. Her faith was an important part of her life, providing her with strength and guidance throughout the years. She treasured her church family and the many friendships she made through her years of worship and fellowship.
Above all, Alma was devoted to her family. Her children, grandchildren and generations that followed were the center of her life, and she cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family and love, and the many special memories shared with her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Michelle Risinger of Granite City, Dale and Christine Risinger of Patoka and Michael and Angie Risinger of Springerton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Theresa and Miguel Huitron of Granite City, Sandy Staggs of Granite City and Tina Jones of Granite City; daughter-in-law, Pamela Risinger of Bremen, Kentucky; son-in-law, Mauricio Gutierrez of Granite City; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other extended family and many dear friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Risinger; a daughter, Misty Gutierrez; a son-in-law, Tim Jones; and four siblings, Bonnie Overturf, Jerry Spicer, William Spicer and Everett Dosa.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at the Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle, 4400 Highway 162 in Granite City, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon. Reverend Michael Risinger, Reverend John Norman and Reverend Joseph Crowe will officiate.
Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.
