Robert J. “Bob” Radosevich, 56, of Troy and formerly of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away at St. Louis University Hospital on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
He was born December 12, 1969, in Belleville, Illinois, a son of Robert L. Radosevich of Collinsville and the late Beverly Ann (Burbes) Radosevich. On May 29, 1999, Bob married the love of his life, Jennifer A. “Jenny” (Modglin) Radosevich, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. Together, Bob and Jenny shared 27 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around love, family, friendship, and countless treasured memories. Bob cherished the time spent with Jenny and their son, Jake, and the many special moments shared with family and friends throughout the years.
Bob retired in 2025 as a Sergeant with the Troy Police Department following 27 years of dedicated service. He took great pride in serving his community as a first responder and devoted his career to helping and protecting others. His commitment to service extended well beyond his profession, and he was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.
He was a longtime former member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9266 in Troy.
Baseball was one of Bob’s lifelong passions. He had the opportunity to play professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization and remained closely connected to the game throughout his life. He coached many teams through the years, served for several years as president of Thunder Baseball in Troy, and especially treasured sharing his love and knowledge of the game with his son, Jake, and countless young athletes. Through coaching and mentoring, Bob helped instill in many young players not only an appreciation for baseball, but also the importance of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Bob also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, and had a special place in his heart for his Rottweilers, including his late companion, Gus, and the family’s newest addition, Jaks. Above all, Bob treasured the memories made with his family and friends. Whether gathered together for holidays, ballgames, fishing trips, family celebrations, or simply enjoying time together, those moments were among the greatest joys of his life. Fun-loving and loyal, Bob had a way of making people feel welcome, and if you were fortunate enough to be Bob’s friend, he considered you family.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jenny, and his father, Robert, he is survived by his cherished son, Jacob Robert “Jake” Radosevich of Troy; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael “Mike” and Kim Radosevich of Collinsville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bob Melliere of Sherrard; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dave and Jan Modglin of Waterloo and Jim and Pat Modglin of Orion; a sister-in-law, Dawn Modglin of DeSoto, Missouri; nieces, Lindsay Modglin and Maris Radosevich; nephews, Nick Giacoletto, Ryan Giacoletto and Jack Radosevich; other nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family; and many beloved friends.
In addition to his mother, Beverly Ann Radosevich, he was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Giacoletto, and a brother-in-law, Greg Modglin.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia Street in Collinsville. Father Michael Rosa will celebrate the Mass, with Father Kevin Laughery concelebrating. Burial will follow at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to the Radosevich family to establish memorials in Bob’s memory.
