Harold Denham

Harold ‘Jim’ James Denham, 79, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Sun. Oct. 6, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 27, 1940 in Denver, CO.

He and Patricia I. Brossett were married in Louisiana on Feb. 8, 1993.  She survives in Pontoon Beach.

Jim was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  He served the Village of Pontoon Beach over his lifetime in the capacity of Police Officer, Police Chief and Mayor as well as serving with the Long Lake Fire Department.  He was a past Master Mason and Shriner and was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Word of Life Tabernacle.  He loved being with his family, friends, and community.  He also loved to fly drones.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters: Leesa (Larry) Montgomery of Millstadt, IL, Kristal (Dale) Wrather of Imperial, MO and Kim (Jimmy) Durham of Brighton, IL; 7 grandchildren: Justin, Megan, Paige, Travis, Koty, Morgan and Cooper; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ed Denham.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thurs. Oct. 10, 2019, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory with a law enforcement walk-through at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Fri. Oct. 11, 2019, with Rev. Henry Crippen officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jim’s name.
