Michael Thomas Darragh, 69, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born June 1, 1951 in Granite City, a son of the late Alfred T. and Robert F. (Corbett) Darragh. He married Eunice (Agapito) Darragh on April 26, 2014 in Granite City and she survived.
Michael was a 1966 graduate of Madison High School. He was a member of the Baker’s Union and had worked as a baker since the age of 18. Throughout the years he had worked for Wonder Bread in St. Louis, Van de Kamp’s Bakery in Los Angeles and for Entenmann’s Donuts in Los Angeles. He cherished his family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Judy Darragh of St. Louis; a daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Brian Guess of St. Louis; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Winnie Rose and Gener Santos of Las Vegas; fourteen grandchildren; a brother, Gary Wayne Darragh of Longview, Texas; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charley Dawson Darragh.
In celebration of his life and in accordance to his wishes, a private family burial will be at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, February 4, 2021, with Reverend Mike Davis officiating.
