The O’Fallon Panthers Wins A Battle Against The Collinsville Kahoks 50 to 49 To Advance To The Championship Game On Wednesday

COLLINSVILLE – The O’Fallon Panthers came into this game with a 12-1 record the only loss the Panthers had this year came from the Collinsville Kahoks. Both teams met again tonight in the Collinsville Prairie Farms Holiday Classic after a back-and-forth contest the Panthers came out on top with a 50 to 49 win to advance to the championship game.

In the first quarter the Kahoks opened the game up with a three pointer by Travion Swygeart. The first quarter went back and forth in the score before Collinsville took a 13 to 12 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter the Kahoks came out on fire and was able to push the lead to 27-18 going into halftime. The Panthers would not go away, The Panthers fought back and was able to get within one point going into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter it was a back-and-forth battle between the teams the Panthers had a 50 to 46 lead with a few seconds left when Kahoks Deante Franklin stole the ball and dumped into Dayton Horras who took a 3-point shot and made it as time was expiring to make it a 50 to 49 Panthers win.

The Panters were led by Rini Harris with 17 points and Caleb Burton with 10 points. The Kahoks were led by Jake Wilkinson and Travion Swygeart both with 12 points.

The Panthers move into the championship game and will face the Decatur MacArthur who beat Quincy 58-53 to advance. The Kahoks will face the Quincy Blue Devils in the third-place game.
