Jeffrey L. Parnell, 53, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born July 2, 1968, in Granite City, a son of Delbert L. Parnell and the late Helen Arlene (Cox) Parnell.
He was an electrical salesman with Frost Electric in Collinsville and a member of the First Baptist Church in Maryville.
Jeff loved the thrill of racing on the dirt track and was an avid collector of racing and sports memorabilia. He loved watching wrestling and his NFL football and was a true fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He cherished his children and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Nathan Parnell of Granite City; daughter, Megan Parnell of Granite City; grandmother, Marie Shaw of Collinsville; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Stephen Watson of Collinsville; niece and two nephews; Faith Kafka, Jonathan Kafka, and Jacob Watson, all of Collinsville; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Tom Hufty officiating.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.
