Alton Police Department Release Victim Name And Suspect Name After Brutal Murder Of Pregnant Lady

ALTON – The Alton Police Department released the victim’s name in the brutal murder that happened in the 3400 block of Bolivar St. on June 9th.

The victim of the homicide has been identified as 22-year-old Liese Dodd of the 3400 block of Bolivar Street and her unborn baby.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the mother of Liese Dodd went to check on he, as Dodd had not been heard from lately. Liese’s mother arrived at the residence where Liese had moved recently. Unfortunately, Liese was found deceased, and the Alton Police Department was contacted.

The Alton Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating this case. Leads and evidence collection led to a name of a suspect. As the investigation continued Alton Police Department detectives began searching for the suspect in Litchfield, Illinois and areas of Montgomery County. The suspect was apprehended by the Gillespie Police Department during the afternoon hours on June 9th.

The investigation further revealed that the victim, Liese Dodd, was beheaded. She was also pregnant with an expected due date of Mid July according to Alton Police Department. Liese and the suspect had been in an on and off dating relationship for about two years. Liese had just moved to Alton a short time ago.

Deundrea S. Holloway 22 of the 400 block of S. Jefferson, Litchfield is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder, 2 counts of Intentional Homicide of an Unborn Child, Dismembering a Human Body, Offenses Relating to Motor Vehicle, and Concealment of a Homicidal Death. Holloway is being held in the Alton Jail on a $2-million bond.

” The sufferings of the victim are horrible. Nobody should have had to endure what Liesse and her unborn child went through. On behalf of the Alton Police Department, I offer my sincerest condolences to Liese’s family and friends” Alton Police Chief Marcos Pulido said

“We believe the evidence will show that the defendant’s gruesome actions here killed both a young woman and the child she carried in her womb,” he said. “In the eyes of the law, both these killings are equal, and he will now face justice for both. I want to thank the Alton Police Department and the many assisting agencies for their swift actions in taking this dangerous offender off the street.” Madison County State’s Attorney Thomas Haine said
