EDWARDSVILLE – Edwardsville Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of IL-157 for a commercial structure fire at the Circle K/McDonalds otherwise known as Gasdonalds around 8:20 p.m. Thursday night.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they located heavy smoke throughout the building. They called for a commercial box-alarm due to the fire. Glen Carbon and Wood Rive Fire Department responded to the scene along with Troy EMS. Collinsville Fire Department responded to Edwardsville station. Madison County Emergency Managment Rehab Unit responded also.
Edwardsville Police Department helped with traffic control.
Firefighters were met with several obstacles but were able to get the fire under control pretty quickly. It is unclear what caused the fire and how much damage was caused.
Everyone evacuated the building, and no injuries were reported.
