Georgia “Fay” Chilcutt, 94, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Bentley’s Extended Care in St. Louis, Missouri. Born June 4, 1932, in Granite City, she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Essa O. (Free) Hawkins.
On December 24, 1950, Fay married the love of her life, Dorse “Wally” Chilcutt, in Granite City. They shared more than 44 years of marriage before his passing on February 2, 1995.
Fay was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Granite City. A talented painter and avid reader, she also enjoyed crocheting and traveling the world. Wherever life took her, her greatest joy was spending time with the family she loved so dearly. Fay’s laughter and love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Along with her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in death by her son, David Chilcutt, and her brother, Harvey Hawkins.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Cynthia (Gary) Biernbaum of Florissant, Missouri; her beloved grandchildren, Andrew Biernbaum of St. Ann, Missouri, and Colleen (Brian) Mueller of Union, Missouri; her dear great-granddaughter, Sadie Mueller; and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, from noon until 1 p.m., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m., officiated by Brother Roger Bryant. Fay will be laid to rest beside Wally at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
