Wood River Police Called For A Suspicious Package Tuesday Afternoon

WOOD RIVER -The Wood River Police and the Illinois Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad were called to a situation on Carringer Place in Wood River on Tuesday afternoon.

The call came in around 3 p.m. to Wood River Police to investigate a vehicle on Carringer Place. One of the Wood River officers saw something that appeared suspicious in the vehicle and the Illinois Secretary of State Police was called. The Illinois Security of State Police members were seen removing packages from the vehicle.

Carringer Place was reopened after the vehicle was safe to tow away. The case continues to be investigated.
