Major Case Squad Investigating Suspicious Death

COLLINSVILLE – Collinsville Police Department responded to the vicinity of 521 Loop St. at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday in reference to an unresponsive male found by neighbors lying in a ditch.

The victim sustained a serious laceration to his torso and was pronounced deceased by the Madison County Coroner’s Office. The victim was indemnified as Tyrese L. Owens a 21-year-old male from Collinsville.

The Collinsville Police Department requested the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis to lead the investigation. Currently, there are 20 investigators assigned to the case. The case is led by Deputy Commander Mark Kuechle.
