Firefighters Locate Victim After Structure Fire Thursday Afternoon

ALTON – The Alton Fire Department responded to the 2700 block of Grandview Ave at around 1:45 p.m. Thursday for a structure fire.

When firefighters arrived on scene the whole front of the house was on fire. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly. Firefighters searched the interior of the house and located a deceased victim.

A box alarm was called and the East Alton Fire Department responded.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal was called to help investigate the fire.
