Michael Grace

Michael Roy Grace, 70, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his home. He was born March 5, 1954, in Granite City, a son of the late Samuel H. and Stella “Nadine” (Hale) Grace. He married Gina M. (Prott) Grace on March 20, 1993, in Granite City and she survives. Michael retired from U.S. Steel in 2004, after 31 years of dedicated service as an electrician with Granite City Steel. He was a faithful member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City and was a member of the United Steelworkers Local. He enjoyed working on and building computers and always had a home improvement project he was working on. He loved teaching others about God, cherished his grandchildren and devoted his life to his family, church and serving the Lord. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three children, Jason (Leslie) Grace of Las Vegas, Nevada, Trisha Grace of Festus, Missouri and Adam Grace of Granite City; eight grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Ian Farnam, Lilly Purviance, Ava Purviance, Lucas Grace, Emily Grace, Ethan Grace and Erica Grace; half-brother, George Samuel Grace of Kentucky; half-sister, Judy Davidson of Florida; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Jaime Grace and Amy Grace.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Word of Life Tabernacle, 4870 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Crippen officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to the Grace family and may be accepted at the funeral chapel. www.irwinchapel.com.
