Tammy Riepshoff

Tammy S. Riepshoff, age 61 of Hamel, IL, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at her home in Hamel, IL.

She was born on Wednesday, June 5, 1963, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Gerald and Janet (nee Casna) Ziegler.

On Saturday, October 8, 2016, she married Scott L. Riepshoff at Grantfork United Church of Christ, Grantfork, IL, who survives.

She was a member of Eden Church of Edwardsville.

Tammy was born in Highland, IL and grew up in the Alhambra/Livingston area. She graduated from Livingston High School in 1982. Tammy attended Lewis & Clark College earning a degree in Earning Childhood Development. She earned her degree while raising her family. She had worked in Day Care for over 30 years. Eden Daycare in Edwardsville, and then a Daycare in Troy, IL. Most of her years she was with St. Paul Early Childhood Learning Center in Hamel, IL as Assistant Director. Tammy loved being a grandma. She enjoyed preparing large family meals for everyone. She enjoyed the horses on the Riepshoff farm. She had a collection of owls and liked classic cars, especially Corvettes.

Survivors include: Husband – Scott L. Riepshoff, Hamel, IL; Son – J.R. (Partner Savanna M. Dawson) Ziegler, II, Hamel, IL; Step Daughters – Brittany N. (Significant Other Tim Gillis) Riepshoff, Perryville, MO, Step Daughter – Tiffany D. (Kevin) Pedigo, Marine, IL; Grandchildren – Daci K. Ziegler, Lillith G. Ziegler, ShaLee M. Ziegler, Wyatt R. Ziegler, Makayla Fink, Dakota Pedigo, Allesandra Pedigo, Jonathan Harris, Daniel Harris, Brother – John (Significant Other Sharon Day) Ziegler, Livingston, IL.

She was preceded in death by: Father – Gerald “Shorty” R. Ziegler – Died Feb. 18, 2001; Mother – Janet E. Ziegler, nee Casna – Died Oct. 25, 1998; First Husband – Edward “Fast Eddie” J. Suessen – Died Nov. 17, 2013; Grandchild – Kathlynn Harris.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Eden Church in Edwardsville, IL.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Edan Church in Edwardsville, IL, with Rev. John D. Roberts, Senior Pastor, Eden Church, officiating.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at Hamel Community Center and Park, Hamel, IL, with prayers by Rev. John D. Roberts, Senior Pastor, Eden Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
