Hilda Gray Cottrell, 87, of Granite City, IL, died at 6:35 a.m. Sun. June 8, 2025 at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.
She was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Stewart Co., TN to the late Lilly (Rippy) Collins Spicer and Oakley Collins.
On May 30, 1954, she and Richard Wesley Cottrell were married in Granite City. He survives.
Hilda was a member of Word of Life Tabernacle.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, she is survived by 2 sons, Jim (Martha) Cottrell, and Tom Cottrell of Granite City, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 sisters, Diane Poe of Granite City, and Nancy Collins of Alton, IL, and a brother, Charles Collins of Granite City.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Lee Cottrell, and a brother, Jimmy Collins.
