Steven Lemmon

Steven R. Lemmon, 67, of Millstadt, IL, born May 15, 1958, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Steve worked as a mechanic for Ameren until his retirement in May 2024. He was a hard worker with the ability to fix anything and always wanted to help others. Steve enjoyed all kinds of music, cars, boats, and being out on Lake Kinkaid. His true passion was restoring classic cars, including his 1929 Model A, which he proudly restored for his parent’s anniversary and had as part of both of his daughters’ weddings. He was also very proud of his latest project, the 1961 Corvette, which he lovingly restored for his wife, Jackie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Muriel, nee Metcalf, Lemmon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Emmelene, nee Toensing, Gellner; a nephew, Nicholas Lemmon; a niece, Christa Meyer; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Wallin.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Jacqueline Lemmon, nee Gellner, whom he married on July 10, 1982; two daughters, Heather Lynn (Jerad) Busch and Shari Amanda (Cameron “Seth”) Brock; five grandchildren, Drake Busch, Izek Busch, Knox Brock, Stella Brock, and August Brock; his sister, Marilyn Lemmon; his brother, Mark Lemmon; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Connie Wallin, Sandy and Jeff Meyer, and April and Morton Friedman; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, & great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, the Belleville Area Humane Society, or to Brittany’s Baskets of Hope (3 Estate Street Lake Grove, NY 11755). Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Hargrave officiating.

Burial will be held at Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, IL.
