Margaret V. Hartoin, nee Rujawitz, 93, of Belleville, IL, born July 17, 1932, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Margaret was a loving and devoted mother. She also enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her rose garden. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved to sew, and was very religious and had a strong faith.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Raymond Hartoin, whom she married on April 21, 1955, and who died on July 17, 1988; a daughter, Donna Marsh; her parents, Emil and Cecelia, nee Bauer, Rujawitz; three sisters, Lucille (Kenneth) Wiesen, Fran (Andy) Nicks, and Helen (Virgil) Stock; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marcel and Elizabeth, nee Guy, Hartoin; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty (Al) Schobert and Bill Hartoin.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Marlin and Geri (Doug) Lowe; a son, Michael (Kris) Hartoin; nine grandchildren, Stefanie (Tony) Gaubatz, Kelli Marlin, Kristen Massey, Stony Marsh, Skyler Marsh, Sarah Lowe, Jake (Katelyn) Lowe, Sydney Hartoin, and Samantha Hartoin; four great-grandchildren, Raegan and Riley Gaubatz, and Anya and Colton Massey; her beloved dog, Derby; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
