
Mary Ann (Staggs) Ramsey, 95, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born January 7, 1931, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Clarence and Elsie (Hall) Staggs. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Richard Ramsey Sr., on June 24, 1951, in Granite City. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2003.
Mary Ann was a longtime member of T.O.P.S. and a longtime faithful member of Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City. She was a dedicated beautician and proudly owned and operated Donna Lee Beauty Salon alongside her sister for many years. She also served as a special education school bus attendant with the Granite City School District, where she cared deeply for the children she assisted.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially fishing, playing cards with her family, and spending cherished time with those she loved most. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Terry Davis of Granite City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Ramsey Jr. of Granite City and Joey and Monica Ramsey of Granite City; four grandchildren, T.J., Ryan, Jessica, and Sierra; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Lexi, Rocco, Gianni, Brody, and Jaida; one great-great-granddaughter, Elenor; a sister, Barbara Sudbring of Collinsville; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lenny Ramsey; two sisters, Doris Robinson and Mildred Clements; and a brother, Richard Staggs Sr.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tim Pate officiating.
