
Roberta Presswood, 82, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 7:41 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Longevity of Granite City.
She was born July 11, 1943, in Wappapello, Missouri, a daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Ross) Ward. She married the love of her life, and they shared 52 wonderful years together before his passing on February 17, 2025.
Roberta retired from Bussmann Fuse after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She had a deep love for her dog, Biscuit, and found joy in reading and spending time outdoors. She especially cherished gardening, camping, and fishing.
Roberta will be remembered for the love she shared and the special memories she created with her family and friends.
She is survived by her stepson, Dave Presswood Jr.; her stepdaughter, Vicki Presswood; step-grandchildren, David Dalessio and Nichole Coad; a step great-grandchild, Logan; nieces and nephews, Dewayne (Paula) Ward, Debbie (Scott) Phegley, Julie (Rich) Roller, Thom (Katie) Ward, and Steve (Katie) Ward; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Brett Allen Presswood, and a brother, Fred (Sue) Ward.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon, with Daniel Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
