Deceased Is Identified: Late Night Shooting At Drive Thru Kills Woman

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County police are investigating a late-night shooting in a business drive-thru that left an adult woman dead and an adult man injured, authorities said.

The double shooting happened about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the 11300 block of Bellefontaine Road, according to the St. Louis County Police Department. Officers from the North County Precinct responded to a call for service for a shooting and found two victims inside a business with gunshot injuries, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Chauncia Meekins, 32 years of age, of the 10000 block of Toelle Lane, St. Louis, MO 63137.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that a confrontation occurred in the business’s drive-thru between employees of the business and occupants of a vehicle outside,” the department said in a statement Thursday. Police said an occupant of the vehicle fired a weapon through the drive-thru window, striking two employees inside.

No suspects were in custody as of Thursday, April 9, 2026, police said. Authorities described the case as an active investigation and said preliminary details may change.
