GLEN CARBON – Father McGivney Catholic High School announced that senior Zoe Oller has received the prestigious Edwardsville Neighbors Young Philanthropist Scholarship, a $2,500 award honoring graduating seniors for service and leadership.
Father McGivney officials said the annual award recognizes students who “show a passion for giving back and making a positive impact in their communities through service and leadership.”
“We are proud of Zoe for representing the Griffin community with compassion, generosity, and a heart for others,” the Father McGivney Catholic High School administration said in a statement about the honor.
Zoe has been a champion athlete for Father McGivney Catholic over the past four years. She recently won the Gateway Conference championship in the discus at McGivney. Zoe tossed the discus 31.03 meters or 101-9 inches to win the title. She was third in the shot put with a throw of 9.50 meters (31-2 inches).
Zoe was also a stellar girls’ basketball and volleyball player for McGivney. She has also concluded her Father McGivney career as an exceptional student.
