
David Paul Jordan, 59, of Trenton, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. He was born on June 7, 1966, in East St. Louis, IL.
Dave dedicated his life to public service, spending his career in law enforcement. At the time of his passing, he was serving as a police officer in New Baden, IL. He previously served with the Trenton Police Department and devoted majority of his career, from 2001 to 2017, to the Belleville Police Department. During his time in Belleville, he was especially proud of his work in the K-9 Unit, forming strong bonds with his beloved police dogs. Dave’s commitment to protecting and serving his community was unwavering, and he took great pride in his profession.
A graduate of Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Dave was a standout football player during his high school years. He remained a lifelong sports enthusiast, especially passionate about St. Louis Blues hockey.
Outside of work, Dave found his greatest joy in the outdoors. An avid fisherman, he was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, spending time on the water. He shared his love of hockey and fishing with his children and grandchildren, memories they will cherish forever.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Josephine Sikora, and his aunt, Jody Sorensen.
Dave is survived by his loving family, including his daughters, Donielle (Patrick) Grimsley and Gabby Jordan; his son, Cameron (Rachel) Jordan; and his four grandchildren, Anna, Ellis, Leo, and Jack.
He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann “Ma” (Sonny) Slade; his sisters, Kathy (Nick) Friderich and Jody Jordan; his uncles, John (Sue) Sikora and Ted Sikora; his cousin, Tony Sikora; his nephew, Jesse (Taylor) Jordan; his great-nephew, Jansen; his beloved dog, June Carter; and many loyal friends.
Dave will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
