Michael Jason Eichacker, 43, of Granite City, passed away unexpectedly at 4:54 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the emergency room at Gateway Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 5, 1982, in Belleville.
Michael appreciated the simple joys in life. He had a deep love for music and especially enjoyed the years he spent playing the drums. He was also an avid video gamer who found happiness in sharing laughter and good times with those closest to him. Above all, Michael treasured his family and friendships. He loved spending time with his brothers and friends, and he will be remembered for his kind heart, loyal spirit, and the many special memories he created with those he loved.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, David B. and Jean Eichacker Sr. of Zebulon, North Carolina; his beloved grandmother, Patricia Brewer of Granite City; three brothers, David (Samantha) Eichacker of North Carolina, Charles (Gwen) Eichacker of Texas, and Dennis (Kristine) Eichacker of North Carolina; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Charlene (Brewer) Eichacker; his grandparents, Charles Brewer and Edward and Margaret Eichacker; two uncles, Ricky Reester and Leonard Eichacker; and an aunt, Veronica Nenninger.
In celebration of his life and in accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and Michael will be laid to rest beside his mother. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
