ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County Police said Tuesday, May 26, 2026, that a man killed after being struck by a vehicle near West Florissant Avenue and Carl Avenue in Jennings has been identified as Terrence Covington, 40, of the 5700 block of Hodiamont Avenue in Jennings.
The St. Louis County Police Department said detectives with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction are investigating the fatal collision, which happened at 1:44 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2026, near the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and Carl Avenue.
Officers from the City of Jennings Precinct responded to a report of a pedestrian struck near the intersection and found Covington lying in the southbound lanes of West Florissant Avenue near Carl Avenue with critical injuries, police said. He died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates Covington was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle, according to police. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains active and that preliminary details may change. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
