BERKELEY, MO. – One person was killed, and three others were injured, on Thursday evening, May 28, 2026, in a shooting at a birthday gathering at Ramona-Mathison Lake Park in Berkeley, Mo., where authorities said a family dispute over children playing too close to the lake triggered the gunfire.
The victim was identified as Lamonte Keys. Authorities said four people were shot in the incident, which developed around 5:20 p.m. Thursday at Ramona Lake in Berkeley.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, Devion Sneed, 25, was charged in connection with the shooting. The charges include first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, stealing a firearm, and four counts of armed criminal action.
Investigators said they believe the victims and the shooter all knew each other.
Authorities said a warrant was issued for Sneed’s arrest.
Law enforcement said his bond would be set at $600,000 once he is arrested.
