Fatal Motorcycle Accident Investigation Underway

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A 60-year-old St. Louis man died after a motorcycle crash Saturday evening, June 6, 2026, near the intersection of Lemay Ferry Road and Telegraph Road, where St. Louis County police said a motorcyclist collided with a pickup truck making a left turn.

Authorities identified him as Dion Schaffer, 60, of the 3600 block of Dovedale Lane in St. Louis, Missouri, 63125.

The St. Louis County Police Department said South County Precinct officers responded to the crash at 6:07 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026. Officers found a motorcycle and a passenger truck involved in the crash near the intersection.

A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Lemay Ferry Road when he collided with a pickup truck that was making a left turn onto Telegraph Road from southbound Lemay Ferry Road, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital for lifesaving treatment and was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Detectives with the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction unit are investigating. Police said the investigation is active and that details may change as it progresses.
