Warm, Humid Monday Brings Chance of Spotty Afternoon Storms

Monday starts mostly sunny and quiet, with temperatures in the low 70s and light north-northeast wind around 2 to 5 mph. It already feels a little warmer than the thermometer shows, so early readings near 71 will feel like the mid-70s as the humidity hangs around.

By afternoon, the heat and humidity build steadily. The high reaches 84, and it could feel as warm as 95 at times. Skies turn partly sunny, and there is a 55% chance of a light thunderstorm developing in spots. Wind stays light out of the north near 7 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph. If you have outdoor plans, this is the part of the day to keep an eye on the sky.

During the evening, any isolated storm should fade, leaving partly cloudy skies and sticky air behind. Temperatures ease back through the 70s, and the breeze becomes lighter.

Overnight, conditions stay partly cloudy and humid, with a low of 69. Rain chances drop to just 7%, and wind remains light out of the north-northeast at around 5 mph. It should be a calm finish to the day, even if the air still feels a bit muggy.

The allergy index is low today. Grass is the main allergen, while mold, ragweed and tree pollen remain low.

Tuesday looks a touch warmer, with a high of 86 and a low of 69. Expect a humid mix of clouds and sun with a stray thunderstorm possible.
