Jorja Haberer

Jorja M. Haberer, age 85 of Highland, passed away at her home Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Jorja was born March 1, 1941, to George and Minnie Post and grew up in the Pocahontas, IL area alongside 12 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, who included Brian Post, Jerry Post and Nancy Schwendeman. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Zbinden, second husband Russell Haberer, and grandson Adonis Clark Jr.

Her surviving siblings include Alice Blunt, Rosalind Wolf, Curtis Post and Marsha Post of Illinois, Lola Goodman of Virginia, Linda Langdon of North Carolina, Larry Post of Indiana, Christopher Post and Melissa Pfeffer of Missouri. 

Jorja has 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Jorja attended Greenville High School, Greenville IL. She married Roy Zbinden on May 17, 1958. They had two sons, Richard and Kenneth Zbinden. They later divorced in 1970.

Jorja remarried, Russell Haberer, November 15, 1971 and had a daughter Kristine Clark (Haberer). They divorced in 1974. 

Jorja lived in the Flanagan and Pontiac Illinois area for much of her adult life. She spent most of her life as a professional care giver. She was a very talented artist who could sketch anything she wanted to. Her talents also included making any food from scratch and sewing anything without a pattern. 

The last several decades Jorja relocated to Highland, IL so she could be close to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
