Charles Dwain Tucker, 89, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime filled with love, faith, family, music, and cherished memories.
Born on September 26, 1936, Charles built a life centered around the people and traditions he held most dear. On April 19, 1958, he married the love of his life, Rosalie (Weiler) Tucker, who survives him. Together, they shared 69 years of marriage, raising their family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, faith, and, at times, a little chaos.
Charles worked for more than 30 years at Granite City Steel before retiring. A devoted man of faith, he found great joy in singing and playing music with his family. Music was more than a pastime for Charles, it was a way of bringing people together, sharing his love, and creating memories that will continue to live on in those who knew and loved him.
A lifelong baseball fan, Charles especially enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He also loved to read and could often be found enjoying a good book. His commitment to service extended into his Masonic life, where he proudly served as a District Deputy Grand Master, Shriner, and member of the Scottish Rite.
Charles will be deeply missed by his wife, Rosalie, and his children, Steve (Janet) Tucker, Connie Casillas, Karen (Fred) Tucker, Melody Tucker, and Andrea (Brian) Grotefendt. He leaves a lasting legacy through his grandchildren, Charles Williams, Greg Fullriede, Brett Casillas, Andrew (Abby) Tucker, James (Alicia) Tucker, Aaron (Casey) Tucker, Micheal Casillas, Lucas Tucker, Mark Tucker, Madelyn Grotefendt, and Allyson Grotefendt; and his great-grandchildren, DJ and Joey Tucker, and Liam and Henry Tucker.
He is also survived by his siblings, Ernest (Edna) Tucker, Sue Counsel, and Betty Sherman, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Cynthia Fullriede; his parents, Bert and Reva Tucker; and his siblings, Rocky Tucker, Raymond Tucker, Ethel Tate, and Sharon Wolfe.
Charles will be remembered not only for the years he lived, but for the love he gave so freely, to his wife, his children and grandchildren, his family, his faith, and his community. His songs, stories, laughter, and the memories he created with those around him will remain in the hearts of his loved ones for generations to come.
In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon, IL., with Pastor Randy Vollmar officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Judes Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
