GLEN CARBON — One occupant died in a four-vehicle rollover crash early Sept. 24, 2026, on westbound Interstate 270 in Glen Carbon, according to preliminary information from the Illinois State Police.
Illinois State Police Troop 8 responded to a report of the crash at approximately 4:53 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at milepost 9.5, just east of Illinois Route 157 in Madison County.

Illinois State Police said one occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
All westbound lanes were blocked until approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
State police did not provide a cause of the crash and said no further information was available.
