Michael A. Timmons, US Navy Retired, age 67 of Highland, IL, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.
He was born on Friday, August 3, 1956, in Alton, IL, the son of Bobby and Shirley (nee Bone) Timmons.
On Saturday, February 6, 1982, he married Twyla Jo Timmons nee Macklin at Decatur, IL, who passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), Edwardsville, IL; Lee Iten Post 439-American Legion, Highland, IL.
Michael was born and raised at Alton, IL, and graduated from Alton High School in 1974. He entered the US Navy and served 17 years, retiring as a Machinist Mate First Class. He made his home in Ramsey, IL, later moved to Highland, IL, in 2006. He was a maintenance worker at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL; St. Louis Cathedral and The Luminaire. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working; collecting 50’s, 60’s and 70’s vinyl records and anything Navy related. He was proud to be a “Sailor”. Gathering information for his family tree and genealogy was a favorite pastime. He loved being a dad and grandpa.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Graveside Service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL, with Full Military Honors.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
