Rhoda Faye White (known by family as Faye) of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully Saturday May 3, 2025 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 10, 1946 in Savannah, Tennessee to her parents John and Rosie Caroll.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings. She is survived by her husband, Jerry White, her children, Tina (Bob) Zinkan, Rhoda (Jim) Smith, and Jeff (Halley) White, seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Faye met her husband Jerry in October of 1963. They quickly fell in love and were married in January of 1964. While raising their three children, Faye also had careers including tending a farm, working for Ford Motor Company, and was briefly a cook for Park Grill in Granite City, Illinois.
Faye was the happiest when she was surrounded by nature. She enjoyed planting flowers in her garden, fishing, and spent many evenings rocking outside on her porch. She loved watching hummingbirds in her yard. When not outdoors, she spent her time watching comedy movies or playing games like Rummy and Yahtzee.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
