Robert Scheid

CMSGT, Robert “Bob” Francis Scheid, USAF, Retired, 78, of Belleville, IL, born December 16, 1946, in Staten Island, NY, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 30 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the AMVETS organization. His love for his 2002 Corvette earned him his nickname, “Corvette Bob”. Bob was also an avid Yankee fan. Above most all, he cherished, loved, and enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William S. Sr., and Louise M., nee Jeffers, Scheid; his sister, Karen Molloy; and two brothers, Richard (Diana) Scheid and William “Billy” Scheid, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn S. Scheid, nee Franklin, whom he married on June 3, 1967; two daughters, Kelley (Rod) Euchner and Kimberley Scheid; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Brennan) Donahue, Robert “Robby” Pees, Sydney Euchner, and Lindsey Euchner; and two great-granddaughters, Morgan Donahue and Reagan Donahue.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Graveside service with military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, with a funeral procession leaving George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, at 8:45 a.m.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
