Ronald Pollard

Ronald Lee Pollard, 92, of O’ Fallon, Illinois, born Friday, August 25, 1933, in Jersey City, NJ, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Ronald and Patricia shared seventy wonderful years of marriage, a love story that began in high school when he quite literally swept her off her feet on their first date. Together they built a life full of love, family, laughter, and many beloved pets, making homes in different parts of the country as they raised their three children. Later in life, Ron and Pat traveled the world together, especially enjoying places rich in history and the chance to meet new people. We like to think that same curiosity and sense of wonder is carrying him onward still.

Ronald built a successful career as a quality control engineer. He was deeply respected for his professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. As a proud Fellow of the American Society of Quality Control (ASQC), he valued lifelong learning and took great pride in contributing to the advancement of quality standards throughout his career.

Ronald found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a fierce croquet competitor in the Coastal Croquet Club’s invitational series, often hosting and traveling to matches against neighboring Lowcountry clubs and frequently coming out on top. He was also an avid golfer who cherished both the game and the camaraderie it brought. Ronald and Patricia also shared a love of square dancing for more than thirty years in three different states, forming lasting friendships and performing at local retirement homes to bring joy and laughter to residents.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Ronald served his country with honor and dedication. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
