GLEN CARBON – The Glen Carbon Police Department said it is aware of a social media video involving an arrest that occurred over the weekend and confirmed that one individual is in custody, Lt. Jeffrey Blind announced on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Blind said the case remains an active and ongoing investigation and that no additional information can be released at this time.
“We want to reassure the community that at no time was there a threat to public safety,” Lt. Blind said.
The department also acknowledged interest in the incident and asked for patience as investigators continue their work.
“We understand there is significant public interest in this incident and appreciate the public’s patience as investigators continue their work,” Lt. Blind said. “Additional information will be released when appropriate and when doing so will not compromise the integrity of the investigation.”
