HIGHLAND – Nora Kampwerth stays busy.
For her hard work, Nora Kampwerth is a Platinum Transportation Student of the Month for Highland High School. Kampwerth, a senior, has had a successful high school career. She serves as the varsity tennis team captain and a Bulldog Buddies Mentor. She is an HHS Ambassador and participates with the HHS Athletic Council, representing and advocating for her peers. She also works with O.S. Impact and the Leo Club. She hopes to join the Unified soccer team that is starting this year. It takes a lot of energy to balance academics, extracurriculars and athletics, but Kampwerth does this easily. She was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. Kampwerth gives back as a youth tennis coach. She holds down a part-time job and regularly babysits and dogsits. She is also a member of her church’s Growing in Faith Together youth group. Kampwerth has been recognized with the AP Scholar Award and was previously named the Honors Algebra II Student of the Year and the AP US History Student of the Year. In her limited free time, she enjoys playing and watching tennis, watching WNBA games, playing with her dog, baking, cooking, crafting, and spending time with loved ones. Those loved ones and her teachers know that Kampwerth will be successful in her next chapter, too. As she looks forward to life after high school, she is excited to see where college takes her. “After graduation, I plan to go to a four-year university to study either food science or electrical engineering,” she shared.
