
Phyllis A. Strieunoski, 79, of Granite City, IL, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at La Bella of Edwardsville.
She was born Nov. 25, 1945, in Madison, IL to the late William Henry Lee and Lovie Christine (Fowler) Hutchinson.
On Jan. 18, 1964, she and Tony Strieunoski were married in East St. Louis, IL. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2009.
Phyllis loved being a mom and homemaker and that love extended into also serving as a private caregiver. She was passionate about music and movies but most of all her family. Phyllis always carried a positive outlook on life, constantly finding reasons to share her smile and laugh with those she knew. Her creativity was expressed through the poems she wrote.
She is survived by a daughter, Christine (Matthew) Crause of Glen Carbon, IL, 3 sons: Anthony “Tony” Strieunoski of Granite City, Michael (Destini) Strieunoski of O’Fallon, IL, and Jeff (Tonya) Strieunsoki of Granite City, 4 grandchildren: Nicholas, Kilee, Hayden, and Harper, 1 great-granddaughter, Jerzi, 2 brothers: Jerry Hutchinson of Waltonville, IL, and Robert Hutchinson of Granite City, and a sister, Rita Novich of Glen Carbon, IL.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Donald Lee, J.L., Bill, Marlin, Charles, and Gary Hutchinson, and 2 sisters: Gaynell Harbarger, and Lucy Valencia.
The family will hold a private celebration of her life.
