EDWARDSVILLE 8, ALTON 0: Gabby Thompson had a brace (two goals), while Jenna Jones, Madison Kline, Caroline Wylie, Dylan Cohn, Addison Greenwood, and Kate Cadigan all scored as Edwardsville won over Alton at Tiger Stadium.
Emma Birkenmeyer had one save in goal for the Tigers to record the clean sheet, while Lynn Cowan had 13 saves for the Redbirds.
Edwardsville is now 10-3-2, while Alton goes to 3-16-0.
CIVIC MEMORIAL 5, HIGHLAND 2: Delaney Griffin had a hat trick, while Landree Wallace had a brace (two goals) as CM took the three points at Highland.
Carlina McGaugjey had one save in goal for the Eagles, who are now 10-8-1, while the Bulldogs fall to 11-12-0.
ROXANA 7, METRO-EAST LUTHERAN 0: Gianna Stassi had a big game for Roxana, scoring five goals, while Sophia Powers and Karsyn Kamp also scored to give the Shells the three points over Metro-East.
Roxana is now 7-10-0, while the Knights slip to 1-17-0.
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 1, COLLINSVILLE 1: Karley Call’s first-half goal was cancelled out in the second half on a goal by Natalie Beck as McGivney and Collinsville played to a draw at Kahok Stadium.
Peyton Ellis made six saves in goal for the Griffins, who are now 17-1-3, while the Kahoks are now 12-7-1.
TRIAD 3, BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 1: London Looby, Juliette Duff, and Shirley Wilder all scored for Triad in their win over Althoff at George Martz Field.
Payton Hartmann had one save in goal for the Knights, who are now 12-3-2, while the Crusaders are now 14-5-0.
In other games played on Monday, Belleville West defeated Mascoutah 2-0, and Marquette Catholic and Waterloo Gibault Catholic played to a 2-2 draw.
SOFTBALL
ALTON 9, COLLINSVILLE 8: In the first of two games on the day for Collinsville at the Collinsville Sports Complex, the Kahoks were tied with Alton 4-4 after four innings, with Collinsville coming back to take an 8-6 lead after six. The Redbirds rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh to take the Southwestern Conference win.
Izzy Hernandez had two hits for Alton, while Kynlie Muscarella struck out four inside the circle. Ava Demetrulas had two hits and three RBIs for the Kahoks, while Aubrey Bordoni struck out six inside the circle.
The Redbirds improved to 8-23.
COLLINSVILLE 17, CAHOKIA 0: Collinsville scored eight runs in the first and nine in the second to earn a split of their two games in the win over Cahokia.
Bordoni had two hits and an RBI for the Kahoks in the second game, while Mackenzie Waligorski struck out five in the circle.
Collinsville is now 6-18, while the Comanches go to 0-15.
SOUTHWESTERN 7, CARLINVILLE 3: Southwestern scored six runs in the third and one in the fourth to win the South Central Conference game at home over Carlinville.
Vivian Zurheide led the Piasa Birds with two hits and an RBI, while Hannah Mary went all the way in the circle, striking out seven. Hallie Gibson had two hits for the Cavaliers and also fanned 12 inside the circle.
Southwestern is now 14-10m with Carlinville going to 7-18.
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 22, METRO-EAST LUTHERAN 12: In a wild game at Griffins Park, Metro-East led after three innings 8-3, but McGivney came back with four runs in the fourth, 10 in the fifth, and five in the sixth to take the Gateway Metro Conference win.
Alexa Jones had three hits and four RBIs for the Griffins, and also struck out nine inside the circle in a complete game. Valerie Johnson had four hits for the Knights, while Audrey Elmer struck out two inside the circle.
McGivney is now 10-10, while Metro-East goes to 2-12.
CALHOUN 5, CARROLLTON 1: Calhoun scored twice in the first and sixth, along with once in the fifth, to win their rivalry game against Carrollton at home.
Matte Grasle had three hits and an RBI for the Warriors, while Anabel Eilerman struck out 11 in a complete game in the circle. Blake Driskill, Brookelynn Eilerman, and Hayden Lake had the three hits for the Hawks, while Eilerman fanned eight in the circle.
Calhoun is now 12-12, while Carrollton goes to 17-9-1.
TRIAD 1, CIVIC MEMORIAL 0: Triad scored the game’s only run, going on to win over CM at home.
Kenzie Becker had the Knights’ only hit and RBI, while Abby Harper went all the way inside the circle, striking out 12.
Triad is now 18-11, while the Eagles go to 8-16.
O’FALLON 23, EAST ST. LOUIS 3: O’Fallon scored six runs in the first five innings in the second, three in the third, and nine in the fourth to take a Southwestern Conference win over East St. Louis at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center.
Jayona Scott had two hits for the Flyers, while Tanner Wilkins and Oleah Brown had the other hits. Khayla Walker pitched a complete game inside the circle, but did not have any strikeouts.
The Panthers are now 18-10, while East Side goes to 1-17.
JERSEY 11, HIGHLAND 1: Jersey scored once in the third, seven times in the fourth, once in the fifth, and twice in the sixth to gain a Mississippi Valley Conference win over visiting Highland.
Anna Kribs had four hits, including a home run, and three RBIs for the Panthers, with Paxton Weirich going all the way inside the circle, fanning 10.
Jersey goes to 15-8, while the Bulldogs fall to 3-18.
FREEBURG 12, ROXANA 9: Roxana had a 5-4 lead after four-and-a-half innings, but Freeburg scored six runs in the fifth, and two more in the sixth, to take the win over visiting Roxana.
