COLUMBIA – At the Columbia City Council meeting this week, emergency medical personnel from Columbia and Dupo were recognized for their successful resuscitation of a patient in cardiac arrest.
Columbia EMS Paramedics Jason Nonn and Brandon Layton, along with Dupo EMS Captain Melissa Schertz and EMT Shelly Acord, received the ZOLL Clinical Save Award for their coordinated efforts. ZOLL’s Clinical Save Award Program celebrates the success stories of our customers who have saved a life using a ZOLL device.
The award was presented by Columbia EMS Chief Kim Lamprecht, highlighting the teamwork between the two departments. The patient’s survival was credited to the prompt and effective collaboration of the EMS providers.
“We are very proud of these two hard-working and dedicated EMS providers,” Dupo Fire & EMS said in a statement.
The recognition highlights the dedication and expertise of local emergency responders in life-threatening situations.
