
ST. LOUIS COUNTY — Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department are investigating the stabbing death of an 81-year-old woman in the 8500 block of Jenny Drive on Sunday morning, Dec. 28, 2025.
Officers from the Central County Precinct responded at 10:53 a.m. Dec. 28, 2025, to a call reporting an accidental injury.
Upon arrival, they found the woman suffering from stab wounds. She died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined the injuries were not accidental but the result of a stabbing by a male suspect. Police identified a person of interest and issued a description of the suspect and a pickup truck believed to be involved, sharing the information with other area law enforcement agencies.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department located the suspect inside the pickup truck at a gas station in the 4500 block of Union Boulevard. After a standoff, the suspect was taken into custody.
The investigation remains active, and authorities said details could change as more information becomes available.
