
GIRLS BASKETBALL
MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 52, RED BUD 30: In the third-place game of the Waterloo Holiday Tournament, Marquette ran away from Red Bud to take the win.
Allie Weiner led the Explorers with 20 points, while Delaney Ortman had 11 points, and Chayce Strickland came up with 10 points.
Marquette is now 9-4, while the Musketeers go to 6-10.
Allie and Chayse received All-Tournament honors.

COLUMBIA 50, ROXANA 48: In a closely-competed championship game at Waterloo, Roxana came back from a first-quarter deficit to lead at the half 25-23, but Columbia came back to win the second half 27-23, nipping the Shells to win the title.
Kinley Jany led the way for the Eagles with 21 points, while Ava Mathews added 15 points.
Columbia is now 10-5, with Roxana going to 7-7.
CARLINVILLE 60, GREENFIELD NORTHWESTERN 35: At the Carlinville Big House, the host Cavaliers led at halftime 29-18 and went on to take the consolation final over Greenfield.
Both Sylvee Gibbs and Kaitlyn Reels led Carlinville with 15 points each, while Ruthie Reels added 12 points.
The Tigers were led by Ella Vetter with eight points, while Kailynn Weller came up with seven points.
The Cavies are now 6-9, while Greenfield goes to 6-5.
GILLESPIE 46, CALHOUN 39: In the Carlinville third-place game, Gillespie 25-10 in taking the win over Calhoun.
Anna Eberlin led the Warriors with 12 points, with Brailyn Lammy coming up with 11 points.
The Miners improve to 9-6, while Calhoun is now 2-7.
In the final, Williamsville nipped Nokomis 50-47 in overtime.
GRANITE CITY 40, JERSEY 35: In the semifinals of the St. Charles, Mo. Duchenne Catholic Holiday Hoops Tournament, Granite led Jersey at halftime 23-19, then held off a comeback attempt to advance to the final.
Jailynn Rae Woods led the Warriors with 15 points, while Taliyah Sykes added 11 points, and Malone Grady had 10 points.
Granite City is now 9-3, while the Panthers go to 5-6.
WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 61, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 27: In a game at Virden North Mac’s Holiday Tournament, North Greene led from wire-to-wire in defeating EAWR.
Kaylynn Buttry led the Oilers with 14 points, while Averi Gilliam added seven points.
The Spartans are now 5-7, while EAWR goes to 3-13.
In other games played on Monday, Civic Memorial won its second straight Benton Holiday Invitations crown by defeating Mt. Carmel 62-38, in the seventh place game at Carlinville, Raymond Lincolnwood got past Bunker Hill 42-38, in the seventh place game at Waterloo, the host Bulldogs won over Cahokia 85-7, and in the consolation final, Marissa-Coulterville won over Waterloo Gibault Catholic 47-25.
