Robert Joseph Haney, 80, of Granite City, IL, passed away Tues. Dec. 30, 2025 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born Mar. 18, 1945 in State Park Place, IL to the late James Theodore and Frances Margaret (Zitta) Haney.
Bob married Charlotte Anne Lipe July 31, 1965 at State Park Assembly of God. She preceded him in death June 22, 2012. He then married JoAnn (Strasen) Flath Oct. 24, 2020 at Calvary Life Church in Granite City. She survives.
Bob had been a professional painter with Local #58 until his retirement. He was a member of Calvary Life Church. He loved attending Tuesday night Bible Study Group, gospel singing events and visiting with friends and family.
In addition to his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by 2 daughters, Darla (Tony) Thomas of Pleasant Plains, AR, and Dana (Demetrius) Townes of Charlotte, NC, a son, Jeffrey (Victoria) Haney of Granite City, 2 step-daughters, Sharla (Robert) Grossman of CO, and Amy (Stephen) Baker of Vienna, IL, 16 grandchildren, Tyler (Ashlee) Thomas, Hannah Thomas, Cassia Thomas, Levi Thomas, Xavian Haney, Thomas Haney, Julianna Haney, Judah Townes, Zander Townes, Brecklyn Garza, Robyn Grossman, Ben Grossman, Shayna Grossman, Dayna Grossman, Samuel Eldridge, and Alexander Baker, 3 great-grandchildren, Azariah, Bella, and Quino, a brother, Jerald (Marie) Haney of Highland, IL, and a sister, Ruthie Daniels of TX.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte, his parents, a daughter, Dina Lynn Haney, a brother, Jimmy, and a sister, Joyce.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sun. Jan. 4, 2026 at Calvary Life Church, 4650 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL 62040 and will continue Mon. Jan. 5, 2026 at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View cemetery.
