RiverBender, Raging Rivers and Shivers Announce Winners of Holiday Lights Contest

1st place - Angela Dennis of Granite City

RIVERBEND – RiverBender.com, Raging Rivers WaterPark and Shivers Frozen Custard thank all who participated in their annual Holiday Lights Contest and congratulate the three winners.

“We’re so proud of our community for showing up and celebrating the holidays with us,” said RiverBender.com owner John Hentrich. “We wanted to spread holiday cheer, and our readers absolutely shared the spirit.”

Throughout the month of December, Riverbend residents were invited to submit a photo of their holiday lights for the chance to win big. One grand prize winner — Angela Dennis of Granite City — received $250 cash, Raging Rivers WaterPark 2026 Season Passes for a Family of 4, and Free Shivers Coffee and Custard for a Year with some limitations.

Margaret and Mike Freer of Godfrey came in second place, while Arielle Tewell came in third on behalf of Pere Marquette Lodge and Conference Center in Grafton. Second and third place winners received Raging Rivers WaterPark 2026 Day Passes for a Family of 4 and Free Shivers Coffee and Custard for a year with some limitations.

Homes and businesses were eligible to compete, and community members were encouraged to vote through our Facebook pages (RiverBender, EdGlenToday, and MetroEastStar). You can see the winners and a full gallery of all entries below.
